Questions for your consultation
Before a rhinoplasty consultation, it is worth bringing questions organized by topic: the surgeon's certification, technique and experience, risks, an itemized cost, and what happens if a revision is needed, rather than improvising them during the appointment.

Scope and limits of this page
What this covers
- Organizes consultation questions by topic: certification, technique, risks, cost, and revision.
- Explicitly cites which clinical organizations recommend each type of question.
- Links to verifying certification and to what a complete quote should include.
What this page does NOT do
- Does not replace the consultation itself or the specific answers a surgeon gives.
- Does not recommend any specific surgeon or facility.
- Does not determine which questions are relevant to a specific case beyond this general list.
On certification and training
The ASPS recommends asking directly whether the surgeon holds a current specialty certification, how many years of specific training they have, and whether they hold hospital operating privileges in addition to their own facility.
See also: Verify the surgeon's specialty.
On technique and experience
It is worth asking which specific technique will be used, where the procedure will take place, and whether the surgeon can show before-and-after photos of cases comparable to your own, to get a realistic sense of possible results without that constituting a promise.
On risks and recovery
The ASPS also recommends explicitly asking what risks and complications are associated with the proposed procedure, how they would be managed if they occurred, and how long the expected recovery is, including how much support is needed during those days.
See also: Risks and warning signs.
On cost and revision
Before accepting a quote, it is worth asking exactly what the price includes, what happens if a revision surgery is needed, and whether that revision would carry an additional cost and under what conditions.

After the consultation
Before deciding, it can help to compare what a specific surgeon offered against the price observations published on the national price page.
